Your employer must be approved by the Home Office and give you a Certificate of Sponsorship.

The role must be an eligible occupation. If you are unsure, we check the occupation code for you.

For example an approved English test, a degree taught in English, or a nationality that is exempt.

This is the higher of the general salary threshold and the going rate for your occupation. Lower rates can apply in some cases.
