Sponsor Compliance Audit — Stay Compliant, Protect Your Licence

Maintaining your sponsor licence requires ongoing compliance with UKVI rules. A single compliance failure can result in licence suspension or revocation. IAUK Manchester’s audit service ensures you’re always prepared.

Why Compliance Matters

As a licensed sponsor, you have a legal duty to prevent illegal working, maintain accurate records, and report changes to UKVI. The Home Office conducts both announced and unannounced compliance visits — failure to meet their standards puts your licence, your workers, and your business at serious risk.

Our compliance audit service identifies gaps before UKVI does, giving you time to fix issues and maintain your A-rated status.

Compliance Audit FAQs

How often should we conduct a compliance audit?

We recommend a full internal compliance audit at least once a year, with mini-reviews every 6 months. You should also conduct a review immediately before any UKVI audit visit.

UKVI officers may visit your premises to check HR records, right to work documents, attendance records, and interview Key Personnel. Visits can be announced or unannounced.

Depending on the severity, your licence may be downgraded to B-rated, suspended, or revoked. You may be given an action plan to address issues within a set timeframe.

You must retain clear copies (physical or digital) of right to work documents for every employee. For sponsored workers, you must also keep copies of their visa, CoS, and passport.

Yes. Our mock audit service replicates the UKVI inspection process so you can identify and fix issues before the real visit. We provide a detailed report with recommendations.
You must check original documents before employment starts, check share codes for digital status holders, and conduct follow-up checks before visa expiry dates. Records must be kept for the duration of employment plus 2 years.
